Graduate Environmental Consultants - Sydney


Prensa is a nationally-based professional risk management consultancy firm which services clients throughout Australia, in all types of industries. We have experts in the fields of occupational health and safety, environment, hazardous materials and occupational hygiene. Our existing national clients work across many sectors, including industry, government, transport and energy. Prensa is an exciting and vibrant consultancy with an expanding client base, resulting in this exciting opportunity to expand the existing Contaminated Land Management (CLM) team in Sydney.

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic graduate to work together within our team who is keen to grow their understanding and knowledge in this field. As well as expert technical skills this role will require an ability to deliver high quality service in a commercial consulting environment. The successful candidate will sit within the CLM team, but will also participate in future hazardous material, occupational hygiene and safety consulting and will develop an understanding of building structures, hazardous materials and the work health and safety legislation that relates to these issues.

The diverse role will include consulting in the field of CLM, including:

  • Fieldwork for Preliminary and Detailed Site Investigations involving soil, sediment, acid sulphate soils, asbestos in soils, groundwater and soil vapour;
  • Environmental monitoring;
  • Technical due diligence assessments;
  • Contribution to and preparation of preliminary site investigation reports, detailed site investigation reports. remedial action plans, asbestos in soil assessment reports, and management plans;
  • Supervision of remedial works and preparation of validation reports;
  • Waste classification assessments; and
  • Hazardous materials surveys.

With experience and development, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to be exposed to project management and business development opportunities, including contributions to and preparation of fee proposals and tenders.

The successful applicant will have the following key skills:

  • A tertiary qualification in science, environmental science or engineering;
  • An ability to work independently and collaboratively, when required;
  • Solid communication skills;
  • Ability and willingness to work in a team environment;
  • Initiative and be self-motivated;
  • Current Australian drivers licence; and
  • Ability and desire to undertake fieldwork in metropolitan and remote locations, as needed.
